Rising stem resilient seated slurry gate valve

11-09-2026

In the selection of slurry transmission pipelines, media containing solid particles, susceptibility to wear and blockage are common pain points in the industry. This DN150, Class 150 rising-stem manual resilient seated gate valve is specially designed for slurry working conditions. Differentiated from ordinary gate valves, butterfly valves and globe valves, it serves as the preferred valve for mining projects.

gate valve

Conventional gate valves mostly adopt non-rising stem construction. During long-term slurry transportation, the stem is easily buried by ore powder, making it impossible to visually check the open/closed status. Butterfly valves feature thin discs, and their sealing surfaces are prone to wear under high-velocity slurry erosion. Globe valves have tortuous flow passages where slurry tends to deposit and clog, resulting in high pressure loss. This rising-stem resilient seated gate valve adopts a straight full bore flow path with no recessed dead zones, enabling smooth slurry passage and low risk of material accumulation and pipeline blockage. The exposed rising stem allows direct visual inspection of the valve opening and closing travel, facilitating on-site operation, maintenance and inspection. The valve body is lined with high-quality rubber for resilient sealing, delivering good wear resistance and resistance to sediment erosion. It is suitable for slurry media at temperatures ≤100℃, and the Class 150 pressure rating meets the pressure-bearing requirements of conventional slurry pipelines.

Its core application scenarios include mine ore dressing, tailings transportation and slurry circulation pipelines. Slurry contains a large amount of sand and solid particles. The sealing surfaces of ordinary valves quickly fail due to particle erosion. Frequent valve replacement causes production line shutdowns and increases operation and maintenance costs. With this rising-stem resilient seated gate valve, the full bore structure reduces medium resistance and particle retention. The resilient sealing structure maintains stable sealing performance in particle-laden media. Manual handwheel actuation requires no supporting electrical equipment, ensuring stable operation at remote mine sites and lowering project supporting investment.

Compared with metal seated gate valves, resilient seated gate valves have lower operating torque for easier manual operation on site and superior sealing performance. Compared with rubber lined butterfly valves, the gate valve’s full bore design does not reduce the pipeline flow cross-section, preventing large slurry particles from jamming at the disc position. For slurry transmission pipelines in tailings systems and ore dressing workshops of small and medium-sized mines, this valve balances cost, wear resistance and sealing performance, reduces downtime and maintenance frequency, and helps customers stabilize the slurry transmission system. It is an economical and reliable valve solution for slurry service conditions.
