Why choose the tilting check valve with weight hammer
The valves shown in the picture are tilting check valves with weight hammer manufactured by Jinbin Valve, with sizes ranging from DN250 to DN700. The valve body is made of WCB carbon steel, equipped with counterweights and hydraulic cylinders, and rated for working pressures PN16, PN20 and PN25.

This counterweight & hydraulic cylinder type low-resistance slow-closing butterfly check valve adopts a two-stage opening-closing structure. When the water pump is running, medium pressure pushes the butterfly disc open; the counterweight lifts along with the disc to balance the self-weight of the butterfly plate, greatly reducing water flow resistance. Meanwhile, the medium flows into the hydraulic cylinder to store pressure. At the moment of pump shutdown, under the combined force of self-weight, counterweight tension and reverse flow pressure, the butterfly disc rapidly closes 80%~90% of the flow passage to block most backflow. The remaining 10%~20% stroke is closed slowly via hydraulic cylinder damping. A needle valve enables precise adjustment of slow-closing duration, which dissipates the impact force of reverse flow step by step and fundamentally suppresses water hammer shock waves.

Conventional standard check valves shut fully instantaneously, which easily triggers severe water hammer. Frequent impact shortens the service life of water pumps, pipelines and flanges. Spring-loaded types are only viable for small-bore sizes, lacking sufficient thrust and cushioning capacity for large diameters.
